This splendid court of Lorenzo de Medici, birthplace of culture and of art in the Italian Reinaissance period, receives the visitor with its traditional hospitality. Here you can admire the splendid monuments by the most famous italian genius (the Campanile By Giotto, the David by Donatello, the Cupola by Brunelleschi) and the several museums and art galleries. For people who love shopping there are the fine jeweller's shops along the Ponte Vecchio, or the exclusive shop windows of via Tornabuoni. The hills surrounding the town are rich of aristocratic villas and palaces that remember us the places described in Dante's masterpiece "La Divina Commedia", as Poppi (castle of earls Guidi) or Camaldoli (the famous abbey). Near Siena there are the vines which produce valuable wine, in particularl the Chianti. This area is particular pleasant for short or long stay with its landiscapes and its typical gastronomy. Monsumanno and Montecatini, not far from Pistoia, are famous for their spa, and the racecourse (Montecatini).
